in lieu of a thoughtful blog post...

...I give you an assortment of garbage and gold from my own private internet:

Lego Thriller: A lego parody of the michael jackson video, almost identical shot for shot. I've come to think much of the silly shit you find on the internet is an acceleration of the references and tributes that suffuse any culture. These little lego people, painstakingly made to duplicate every detail in the original thriller video, are a modern equivalent to hero worship as expressed in ancient figure carving and iconic painting... At least that's what I need to believe.

Dubya, the movie: "Only one man could play him." Starring Don Knotts.

The dark room: a brain teasing puzzle, in flash.

$26,000 for a virtual island: Video game culture will defy credulity more and more for people not involved in it.

Bollywood: a musical primer. If you haven't already, get a feel for India's movie music.

Dylan's blog: A personal blog by a girl with a thing for Neopets and J-rock. It's fairly typical of its kind; what's interesting to me is this video blog post... well done, free flowing, low bandwidth. I want to do some of these in 2005. Hold me to that.

A diaper load of holiday love to all you family, friends and strangers.

Michael Verdi, Dylan's father, has his own website at michaelverdi.com where some more of his videos are published, and you can email him about his Best Practices, or whatever. But dang, I guess you knew that already. Anyway, www.videoblogging.info will be updated within the next month with some tutorials and stuff. And if you just want to watch more video blogs there is, among others, www.me-tv.com where you can within a few minutes view all kinds of vlog entries. I look forward to seeing some vlogs from you next year!
